nope...PayPal is totally seperate from aidpage....go to www.paypal.com and then it will take you through the steps to set up an account...I can't remember for sure, but I think you might have to have a bank account of some sort (doesn't matter if it's savings or checking and doesn't matter how much you have in the account, cause I think I had $3.23 in mine when I established the paypal account)...hope this helps

TO ALL THOSE CHECKING INTO THESE "SO-CALLED" LOAN AGENCIES...IF THEY WANT MONEY UP FRONT....IT IS A SCAM....CAN'T SAY IT ANY CLEARER...I HAVE BEEN APPROACHED OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN SO MANY DIFFERENT ANGLES....AND ONE ACTUALLY GOT ME....MY BANK ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED WITH A NEGATIVE $600 BALANCE...I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKLY THOUGH, CAUSE I DID TRY TO BE CAUTIOUS...I WAITED 7 BUSINESS DAYS TO W/DRAW ANY MONEY FROM THE "CASHIER'S CHECK" SENT TO ME AND THE DAY AFTER I W/DREW THE ENTIRE AMOUNT $4500 THE BANK CALLED ME TO SAY THE CHECK WAS A FRAUD AND THEY WANTED THEIR MONEY BACK...I HAD ALREADY USED $600 TO PAY SOME PAST DUE BILLS BUT STILL HAD $3900...WHICH I GAVE BACK....SO AGAIN, I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY....YOU GOT TO ASK YOURSELF....WHY WOULD SOMEONE TRUST SOMEONE W/A $7500 LOAN, W/NO COLLATERAL, NOTHING AND THEY KNOW YOU NEED THAT MONEY SO BAD YOU CAN TASTE IT....THEY ARE TAKING TOTAL ADVANTAGE OF THAT FACT....DON'T DO IT!!!!! I KNOW YOUR DESPERATE......BUT IF YOU HAVE ONE INKLING OF NAGGING THAT IT'S NOT LEGIT....THEN IT ISN'T...I SHOULD HAVE GONE WITH MY INSTINCTS...SOMETHING TOLD ME IT WAS "FISHY"....JUST WANTED TO PASS THIS EXPERIENCE ON...I KNOW IT'S DOWN TO THE WIRE..FROM READING YOUR COMMENTS...BUT THINK ABOUT ALL THOSE YOU ARE BORROWING THAT MONEY FROM...TRUST ME WHEN I SAY...NO-ONE WILL "UNDERSTAND" IF YOU GET SCAMMED WITH THEIR MONEY....MY MOTHER'S BANK ACCOUNT GOT FROZEN WHEN ALL THIS HAPPENED ON MY ACCOUNT...SO IT'S NOT JUST GOING TO BE YOU THAT GETS IN A JAM....WORDS FOR THOUGHT

JUST A HINT....I THINK ST VINCENTS TELLS YOU TO LEAVE A MESSAGE AND A VOLUNTEER WILL GET BACK TO YOU...WAIT NO MORE THAN 2 DAYS AND TRY AGAIN....YOU HAVE TO BE PERSISTENT...I THINK THEY ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS...SO THEY DO THIS ON THEIR OWN TIME (AFTER WORK, ETC.)SO JUST KEEP CALLING UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONSE....THEY WILL HELP OR ADVISE YOU ANOTHER CHURCH (IF YOUR NOT IN THEIR AREA) THAT WILL....YOUR WELCOME...I KNOW IT'S NOT MUCH...WISH I COULD HELP MORE

I don't know what part of Florida you live in but I'm from Tampa and I have gotten one time assistance from the St. Vincent DePaul Society...they paid one full month's rent for me when I was temporarily unemployed...also the Lee Davis Foundation...helps w/a portion of your rent and utilities (they will make an agreement w/Teco to keep you from getting shut off also)...I don't know if your eligible for food stamps Medicaid for your children or not but that would be another avenue to check out....but the first two agencies I named are real good helping people out of a short term jam.....

Dear Worried--- Have you tried any of the Catholic Churches in the area? I'm not sure where you live...so I was unable to look it up myself....but alot of Catholic churches help w/ONE time help situations....also your local Family and Children Services should have some sort of Electric/Gas program that will help you out one time a year.....Worse comes to worse...get out the yellow pages and start calling ALL the churches in your area...you'll have to explain your situation over and over again...but I can almost bet if you do this you will find someone that can help or can direct you to some help.

I am a single mother of one 3 yr old child. I am employed full time and
>by the time I pay for the basics, there is nothing left.
>
> Here is my dilemma.... I have two outstanding tickets that I never
>have the money to pay. Therefore, since the tickets have gone unpaid, I am
>now driving on a suspended license. If I get caught, I face jail time,
>additional fines, etc. However, if I take a bus, I would have to leave
>from my street @ 5a.m. to arrive at work, by bus, on time @ 8a.m. (the
>buses don't run that early) and I'd have to take 5 different buses. It’s
>just not feasible. I've tried already.
>
> I need help paying off these tickets and reinstating my license.
> The total cost is : $350.00.

If anyone out there can assist, it would truly be appreciated.

Winter: Your daughters are very beautiful indeed. Just a thought...does your county or city have a back-to-school program where they give out free backpacks full of school supplies?? I know that is just a minor issue but it would be one less thing to worry about. Also you may want to check out the homepage of "Who Knew" she is a very resourceful individual and may be able to point out some other resources....Don't give up....I did the same thing....went to school on government funds w/2 young children...you won't regret it when you do finally finish...it is a great accomplishment.

Yeah--give me your shipping address...you can leave me a private message or request my email...and I'll message it to you private...I'm not sure how to ship something and the shipee to pay for the shipping...I know it's done all the time...I'll have to investigate that...but like I said I'd b more than happy to do it at my own charge I jst won't be able to ship it til the week of Aug 11th. Let me know

Busymomma I have a few items of clothing (I think--what size?) and some toys that my son can definently spare...however..I have promised another mother on aidpage to ship stuff to her w/what $ I can spare to do so on my next paycheck...if your willing to stand in line (til I get the next paycheck after that to pay for shipping) I will be more than happy to help you with some of these items...I will need a shipping address also. Let me know

re:familyhealthhelp In Amy's defense...I have seen and participated in a prescription advocacy program much like the one she describes....but in Indiana and we never paid a registration fee...which she did kind of explain.....it seems since you are running this program that there should be some kind of funding available to you for postage expenses...one would think anyway.

Lisa & Ladyfriend Lisa-thank you so much for all the info...however it goes much deeper than that....I have suffered traumatically w/our "justice" system when it comes to child support, visitation, etc., I be happy to dicuss it in more detail w/you in private sometime..because you sound like you know a little bit about the law and you sound very resourceful too...but anyway thanks but no thanks Ladyfriend...so true..so true...whatcha gonna do??? That's why I'm alone now....much simpler on the mind and heart

Barbwyre: No problem....now I'm sure it will cost quite a bit (in our $ standards) to ship this stuff...I will start sending you the clothes, etc. as soon as I get paid next Wednesday...I probably can't afford to ship more than $20 worth at a time..because I just returned to work and am still trying to catch up on my bills!! But we'll get it to you...My next payday after that won't be till Aug 9th (bi-weekly pay sucks...better than no pay though) and I'll ship out more then..O.K.??? And no problem....I don't have much but love giving when I can.

Who knew My son's father has 4 other children besides mine and never paid a dime on any of them...he has spent @ least 50% of his 43 yrs of life in jail or prison....so basically it is futile..not only that but it was my bad decision to have a VERY short relationship with him...but once I really learned what he was about I didn't want my son around those kinds of "morals" (if you know what I mean)..when he isn't in jail...he lives w/mama and she continues to support him.

Okay...there is a Catholic Church called St. Vincent's....they have an "in-house" agency to help out people...it is a ONE TIME handout ONLY...They are called St Vincent's DePaul Society call information or access yellow pages online...they paid one full month's rent for me and from what I see they are in various places in the U.S. and I'm almost positive in Miami...if not...start making your plea to other Catholic churches in your area..someone will give you help or advice where else to look for help. I have one more agency but I need to search for it online...I will get back to you asap

I live in Florida also....if you could tell me what area you live in I might be able to give you some of the resources I found when I recently lost my job....I am re-employed now..but these resources did help me get caught up on rent, electric, etc.

I don't know if you have had any luck w/your Medicaid situation....you are probably going to have to reapply for their birth certificates, social security cards...in that order and then go from there...but the reason I am writing is because you said that your one son has breathing issues...Do you already have a nebulizer for him? (breathing treatment machine?) I have one not being used that I would be happy to ship to you at no charge to you....Check your community agencies...the last place I lived they had a prescription agency where they would help you fill prescriptions up to 3 times in one year....and made exceptions to that rule in certain cases...Well let me know about the nebulizer and good luck
